Jamie Vardy takes No.10 shirt at Cremonese after Leicester exit

Jamie Vardy has officially chosen his new shirt number at Serie A newcomers Cremonese, bringing an end to his long-standing association with the No.9 at Leicester City.
The 37-year-old striker, who signed for the Italian club as a free agent on transfer deadline day, will wear the No.10 shirt in his debut season in Italy. Cremonese’s No.9 remains with Manuel De Luca, meaning Vardy will lead the attack in a fresh jersey number for the first time in over a decade.
Cremonese confirmed updated squad numbers for their summer arrivals, including:
- Faris Moumbagna – No.14
- Jeremy Sarmiento – No.19
- Mikayil Faye – No.30
The club, promoted from Serie B through last season’s play-offs, were one of the busiest teams in the Italian transfer market. Alongside Vardy, permanent signings included Federico Baschirotto, Jari Vandeputte, Antonio Sanabria, Giuseppe Pezzella, Andrea Fulignati, and Marco Silvestri.
They also bolstered the squad with multiple loan deals, bringing in Martin Payero, Warren Bondo, Filippo Terracciano, Alessio Zerbin, Jeremy Sarmiento, Mikayil Faye, Emil Audero, and Romano Floriani Mussolini.
With Vardy’s arrival, Cremonese will hope his experience and goalscoring instinct help them adapt quickly to life back in Serie A.
